Bienvenidos Las Palmas
Raise a glass of America's' favorite Mexican cocktail to our newest stop along Margarita Mile.
Visit Dallas is pleased to announce the addition of Uptown's Las Palmas restaurant to our famed Margarita Mile. You might ask, can there be too many margaritas stops along Margarita Mile? That is like asking if there can there be too much joy in the world? Possibly, but it is highly unlikely.
The two-story 1980s inspired Tex-Mex restaurant opened in the heart of Uptown in 2019. Since then bartenders have been busy making traditional slushy tart lime margaritas along with other margarita flavors like White Peach, Mango, and Jalapeño. If you are having a hard time choosing between a sangria or a margarita, the folks at Las Palmas make it easy by offering a Sangria Margarita.
The fun drinks do not stop with the margarita. Bartenders here create a litany of craft cocktails including a Sparkling Paloma, a Lime Fizz and a Seasonal Pimms Cup. It is not all fun-and-games, however, on the drink menu. For the serious tequila connoisseurs out there, Las Palmas has an agave menu with more than 62 types of tequilas and mescals.
As they say, come for the drinks, stay for the food. Owners describe the restaurant as a throwback to Dallas' great 1980s Tex-Mex era when the fajita platters were sizzling, the tortilleria handmade tortillas in the middle of the restaurant for all to see and the combo plates came with more food than any reasonable person could eat in one sitting.
While the dishes are styled around traditional Tex-Mex offerings, the chef has modernized many of the ingredients with delicious results. Wagyu Steak Fajitas, Brisket Tacos and Queso Blanco constantly duke it out for the most popular menu item and the sopapilla cheesecake might be the best hybrid dessert ever invented.
True Tex-Mex traditionalists gravitate towards the picadillo Chimichanga topped with their signature queso, the chicken tinga puffy tacos and overstuffed Chile Relleno.
If it is a nice, sunny day enjoy your guac and margs on one of two patios. If the weather is not so pleasant bring the fun inside and sip alongside vintage film posters in the El Hollywood Room. No matter where you sit, next time you are in Uptown stop by Las Palmos, raise a salted (or unsalted) glass and help us cheer our latest outlet on the Margarita Mile.
