Dallas has honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for more than 40 years in one of the largest commemorative events in the nation. The parade, a festive mix of floats and marching bands, takes place along MLK Boulevard in South Dallas in mid-January.
Dates: Mid-January, annually. The 2023 parade will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at 10 a.m.
Cost: The Martin Luther King Jr. Parade is free to attend.

In addition to the yearly parade, the MLK Center hosts several community and cultural events throughout the year, from a Remembrance Ceremony to events during Black History Month. The Center is also home to the Dallas Civil Rights Museum, where visitors can discover and reconnect with the power of the Civil Rights Movement in America all year long.
